We are a world class kidney transplant program that performed our first transplant in 1969. Today we perform over 200 transplants per year with a focus on patient-centered care and living kidney donation with an emphasis on kidney paired donation. 

Our dedicated team is composed of transplant surgeons, transplant nephrologists, nurses, physicians assistants, social workers, financial advisors, medical assistants and staff. Together, we manage patient care in the evaluation phase, during their hospital stay, and for the life of their transplants.

Hepatobiliary And Pancreas Surgery

Our skilled hepatobiliary and pancreas team at Aurray is composed of surgeons, interventional endoscopists, radiologists and hepatologists who work together to treat hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancer and related organ diseases.

We were the third hospital in the United States certified by the American College of Surgeons High-Risk Gastrointestinal Verification Program as a Center of Excellence in Pancreas, Liver and Esophageal Surgery based on adherence to standards, optimal resources and excellent outcomes.

To continuously improve patient outcomes, we incorporate tools such as the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS). In addition, our dedicated surgical team regularly tests new devices to ensure that patients benefit from the most recent technological advances.

In most cases, we can offer same-day, multidisciplinary consultations and appointments for hepatobiliary neoplasms: HCC, cholangiocarcinoma, gallbladder polyps and cancer, pancreatic masses (both benign and malignant).

Using laparoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), we preoperatively stage all patients with malignancies. Following staging, our hepatobiliary team works with the referring physician to review all options with the patient and family members to determine the best treatment plan.

We offer a team-based, patient-centered approach to liver cancer care that serves a high volume of patients. To date we have completed more than 150 completed surgeries, always with personalized care.

Our team was the first in the Bay Area to perform robotic-assisted resections and we recently introduced 3D ultrasound navigation to localize liver tumors intraoperatively.

We prioritize a team-based approach where input and expertise is valued, and proactive provider support and communication is emphasized. Our specialized team of schedulers, nurses and technicians form the core of our support team.
